Few cars survive as long as Jaguar’s venerable XJS, and even fewer look this good throughout their lives. This long, low, and wide 1995 XJS convertible proves that a great design is timeless. Even 20+ years after it came off the ship from England, exceptional maintenance means this still looks like it should cost tens of thousands of dollars more than it does. The later years are arguably the best for the XJS. The styling was allowed to mature, and the true cabriolet versions like this one are the kind of sporty elegance we all expect from Jaguar. The long hood and the low-slung body were subtle hints at the company’s sporting history. There were also a few more obvious hints of flair in places like above the body-colored bumpers, around the unique headlights, and the distinct five-spoke factory alloy wheels. But, the true quality of the car can be seen in the paint. This Topaz Metallic was applied at the Coventry factory over two decades ago. Today it retains a great modern-looking luster, and the overall package carries timeless sophistication with a brown folding roof (and glass rear window) that coordinates so well with this paint. Of course the other reason why looks so good is because Jaguar owners cherish their cars. This two-owner XJS was driven like a proper Jag should, but its condition tells us there was a lot of loving garage-kept care.
