This is an extraordinarily rare and completely rust free and professionally restored to a standard equal to when it was originally manufactured and built on 2/17/1966 and dispatched on 3/8/1966 for California over 56 years ago, matching #’s 4.2 engine 1967 Jaguar E-Type XKE Series 1 2+2 Coupe! This is a truly marvelous example of this coveted first series of E-Type Jaguars, with the legendary glass covered headlights, small ‘mouth’ opening at the front, 4.2L liter engine with the triple SU carburetors, aircraft style toggle switches and rear tail and signal lamps positioned handsomely above the chrome rear bumper!

So here it is, a professionally restored with no expense spared and meticulous attention to detail 1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series 1 2+2 Coupe with the optional automatic transmission coupe with it’s original matching #’s 6 cylinder 4.2L/265HP engine, heads and transmission and with four original Jaguar chrome knock off spoked wire wheels, a wooden steering wheel, original jack, mallet and spare chrome wire wheel! The car had a full professional repaint in ‘Carmen Red’ and a full ‘Suffolk & Turley’ factory specification correct restored interior trim in ‘Biscuit’ with correct grain hides and the restoration was made to be as original as correct and possible with correct screws, set screws, brass vs steel, copper vs cadmium etc parts. The car boasts ‘Willwood’ bolt on front disc brakes for safety and an aluminum radiator with large fan.

The car had an already originally very straight rust and accident free body which received a full no expense spared restoration in 2013-14 with only very few trouble free miles since being restored. Restoration work included body and paint down to bare metal in its original ‘Carmen Red’ color, the original matching #’s engine was rebuilt to factory specs with a complete head rebuild, new pistons, crank and lower end, the engine was line honed and the rotating assembly balanced. The rear end assembly was also completely rebuilt and the car has new and factory correct newly upholstered seats with new correct factory wool carpeting, it has a rebuilt brake system with ‘Willwood High Performance’ front disc brakes, all the chrome was replated, new hoses, new rubber seals, new U joints, new suspension and steering bushings, rebuilt differential, flush transmission and differential.The car has an aluminum radiator with a thermostatic electric fan, electronic ignition, an upgraded oil pump and oil filter assembly, fuel pump, alternator and a stainless steel exhaust header.

All the options are working as they should including the choke warning lamp, turn signals, brake lamps, warning indicator lamps and horn. The heater and defroster operate trouble free and the engine runs reliably at +60 PSI oil pressure and 70 degrees C whilst driving. The floor boards and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free! The car has no signs of any accidents of any kind and has a razor straight body. It’s ‘Carmen Red’ color paint is virtually show quality having been stored in the garage since its restoration in 2014 and the car’s interior is as new.

THERE WERE ONLY 3,616 SERIES 1 2+2 FHC BUILT & THE LOW PRODUCTION NUMBERS ON THESE CARS MEAN THAT THEY ARE ACTUALLY QUITE SIMPLY AMONGST THE RAREST OF ALL PRODUCTION E -TYPES! THE TOTAL PRODUCTION NUMBERS FOR THE FHC ARE AS FOLLOWS:

SERIES 1 (3.8): 7,670;

SERIES 1 (4.2): 5,830 (WITH ONLY 3,616 BEING 2+2);

SERIES 1.5: 1,942;

SERIES 11: 4,855

& SERIES 111: 0!

Please also note that the FHC’s (Fixed Head Coupe) are way rarer than the 33,996 OTS (Open Two Seaters) built.
