The 1948 Jaguar Mark IV 3 ½ Litre Drophead Coupe is featured here in the stunning and highly sought after color combination of black over a red leather interior with a beige three-position folding convertible top. This particular example was completed by the Coventry works in June 1948 and was subsequently distributed through Hoffman in New York. The Mark IV was just released from the private collection of Prof. Dean Edmonds Jr. A Doctorial graduate of MIT and professor of Physics at Boston University, Mr. Edmonds is credited for his work on developing the cesium atomic clock and today is recognized with his name on the Wall of Honor in the National Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. A respected automotive collector and connoisseur in his own wright, his personal collection included several other notable Jaguars and even a Bugatti Type 55 Super Sport!

This Mark IV has been subjected to a comprehensive restoration with over $130,000 invested including a full engine rebuild. Having been under the meticulous care of Mr. Edmonds for over a decade the Mark IV presents and performs wonderfully today.
